\nSummary: Awesome job stating your summary. I like how you put in chronological order and showed how the ideas are building off one another.
\nUnderstandings: These do a nice job of summing up what you want the kids to know from a bigger picture.
\nEssential Question: Great questions, these will really get the kids thinking and discussing. I especially like the question about what does it mean to be equal.
\nStudents will know: These go along nicely with your unit. They really do a nice job of summing up what you want the students to know by the end of the unit
\nStudents will be able to: These are good skills that will do a good job of showing you if the students really get the understandings or not.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"40193736","dateCreated":"1308004413","smartDate":"Jun 13, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"dmk00201","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/dmk00201","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/gmstassessment.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/40193736"},"dateDigested":1531977987,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"UbD Template Stage 1","description":"I like the Established Goals because they push the goal further than just identifying or explaining. "Identifying shapes by their attributes" is a great goal for 2nd graders.
\n
\nThe understandings are also very good in that they aren't simple factual statements and will push the students to think about why a shape is a shape based on the attributes. "Equal" is also a complex idea that is more complicated than simple math, so this is a good lead-in to more complex math to follow.
\n
\nThe Essential Questions are excellent, general statements that invite inquiry. Great job.
\n
\nI'm not so sure about the "Students will know..." section. I don't see "shapes" and "equal parts of a whole" as being a complete thought on the subject, though I may be misunderstanding the purpose of the excercise here.
\n
\nAll in all, great job.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]}],"more":false},"comments":[]},"http":{"code":200,"status":"OK"},"redirectUrl":null,"javascript":null,"notices":{"warning":[],"error":[],"info":[],"success":[]}}
