The topics you plan to teach a relevant and interconnected.
\nUnderstandings: The understandings you have provide a good framework for your unit. Would you consider asking why groupings or relationships among animals are a disadvantage? Just to play the other side of the field. Not sure there are too many disadvantages to it but it might be a good topic of discussion.
\nEssential Question: I really like the question about why animals for social groups because it allows you to get a wide variety if answers that will show the students ability levels and prior knowledge. Again, I might bring in a question about the disadvantages of groupings or relationships just to get a discussion going. The students might come up with some great ideas for disadvantages.
\nStudents will know: I think you did a nice job of listing the understandings the students need to be successful in the unit. It really ties everything together in simple statements that state clearly what the students should know at the end of the unit.
\nStudents will be able to: Those are great skills that the students are going to be able to do. They are clearly stated and use great verbs to describe what the students need to do.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[],"more":0}]},{"id":"40193644","dateCreated":"1308004182","smartDate":"Jun 13, 2011","userCreated":{"username":"rrzepka","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/rrzepka","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/gmstassessment.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/40193644"},"dateDigested":1531977984,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Unit Feedback","description":"I think your summary was really well written. This gives an overview of what you are going to teach. I also thought your enduring understandings were well written and would captivate students. I like how your broke them down into narrower subjects. This really helps to focus the learning and I think students would benefit from this. Where are your established goals? I did not see them in your unit. Have you not determined what they are, and if not how will you determine them? Great job!","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"40193762","body":"I really like the section about what students will know, and what students will be able to do. They are very detailed and relate to your EQ's and standards. I also did not see your established goals, but I don't think you will have a problem writing them because it seems as though you have a good grasp on what you want the students to get out of the unit!
